The Gymbus Project
The Gymbus project is to promote sports development for the child in a fun, entertaining and educational way. The Gymbus is for kindergartens and the lower primary school children.The Gymbus is a double decker bus that is reconfigured into a gym, it is colourful, with the proper materials to support gym activities. The Gymbus is refitted with the proper apparatus to support development of body coordination and body movements. The child will have enhanced self- confidence through the development of its body coordination and body movements, the program will prepare the child for sports and to initiate the child to a healthy and sporting lifestyle.
In this age of internet and playstation, the child is less active. We have to create an environment that is safe and fun in order to engage the child with physical activity in a meaningful way. The environment needs to draw the natural curiosity of the child, it has to be colourful, it must have fun apparatus such as monkey bars, roman rings, slides etc, it must provide a three dimensional experience with vertical and horizontal equipments.
The child is naturally drawn to big locomotives; they overwhelm the child with their size and motion. The child will rather travel in a bus then in the comfort of a family sedan. The child is naturally drawn to the Gymbus, it is a safe environment, it is colourful, its’ layout and equipments will entice the child to physical motion. The Gymbus is an environment that encourages the child to sporting activity.
